ABOUT KL HANDS
Recognizing how we fall short in caring for our senior citizens, I decided to bring together the Korea Legacy Committee and Helping Hands to start an initiative to raise awareness about senior poverty in South Korea. Through Community & Wellness programs, we bring students and senior citizens together with meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our main goal is to provide companionship and support.
KL Hands is named after a combination of two organizations, the Korea Legacy Committee and Helping Hands. The Korea Legacy Committee is a non-profit organization established in 2015, with a focus on raising awareness and funds for elderly poverty. Working in partnership, Helping Hands is a student-led high school club seeking to give back to our community through volunteering opportunities.
As the representative from the Helping Hands Club, I devote myself to Community & Wellness volunteer events 2-3 times a week alongside two other junior interns from the Korea Legacy Committee. Through this platform, KL Hands, I hope to document my activities and raise more awareness for our movement.
