On February 24th, two Helping Hands club members and I went to the Korea Legacy kitchen to help prepare ingredients. We are planning to make a dessert that is very trendy in Korea, called Dubai Chewy Cookies (or 두바이 쫀득 쿠키). To ensure the future baking session with the senior citizens goes smoothly, we meticulously peeled several bags of pistachios and completed the inner fillings in advance.
From this experience, I realized that, despite these Dubai Chewy Cookies being a trend among younger audiences in Korea, senior citizens still show curiosity towards them. While preparing, I felt both excited and honored to be able to introduce what is popular among my age group to them.
